Beginner Crochet Drapey Cowl + Tutorial

Crochet Drapey Cowl

This cowl was originally created with Paton's Metallic Yarn, but that yarn has become discontinued. The pattern is still wonderful and I used Caron Simply Soft instead. This is a beginner-level crochet project.

The Crochet Drapey Cowl has 4 rounds that repeat itself. One round of trebles, and 3 rounds of single crochet. It's a great first-time project for beginners but is also an easy one for experienced crocheters who really don't want to concentrate too hard.

I've tried your trick in the past and most times it still twists. . I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I'll keep on practicing.

for me, when I first started doing things in the round like this, I had to watch a few times more often than not it was how I was putting the hook when I slip-stitched, there's a little trick that I came across a year or so ago, that you chain approx 10 take it off your hook put the last stitch then put the end you are working from back on where the chain is shorter it's less likely to twist on you then you continue chaining and slip stitch as the pattern says, hopefully, this helps

What size hooks and brand you like best? Love your tutorials. Thanks

I don't use any particular brand to be honest with you. My hooks are generic that I buy online. They are just cheapies as I tend to lose my hooks for reasons I don't understand.
